Inspiration Guaranteed

This week, the SAT will hold another Pecha Kucha Night, three months after the latest one, which delighted urban design and architectural fans; the program for this fourth edition will combine urban planning, architecture, industrial design and graphic design.

Noteworthy participants include two architects: Maxime Gagné, who will present an environmentally friendly housing project built and managed by the community; and Dominique Laroche, whose proposed design for Griffintown is inspired by two Swedish environmentally sound urban developments.

Luce Beaulieu, Designer; Alexandre Verdier, industrial designer; and Nicolas Reeves, architect and professor at the UQAM School of Design, will also be attending.

These evenings, initiated in Tokyo in 2003 by architectural firm Klein Dytham, consist of a series of demonstrations and presentations. Each participant is allotted a total of 6 minutes and 40 seconds in which to show 20 images for 20 seconds each.
